National Medal of Honor Museum
The Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest and most prestigious military honor, has been awarded to more than 3,511 military service members since the first medal was presented in 1863. The National Medal of Honor Museum, currently being built in Arlington, Texas, will offer an experience that draws personal and emotional connections to Medal of Honor recipients and their inspiring stories, while shedding light on the stories of heroism and the values that the Medal of Honor represents.
The project team including Becky Burleson from Linbeck, Suzanne Taylor with Graham Engineering, Stephanie Tsang with Rafael Viñoly Architects, Jennifer Surgalski & Alexandra Rhue from the National Medal of Honor Museum, and Jeffrey King with Falcon Construction will share what it takes to bring the vision of a world-class museum to life with the inside scoop on the design and construction elements that are being used to honor all of the Medal of Honor Recipients and the branches of service that they represent.
- Museum footprint encompasses over 100,000 square feet, cornering five acres of waterfront in Arlington, Texas.
- Over 31,000 square feet of Exhibition Galleries, as well as dedicated spaces for meetings, symposiums, memorials, and ceremonies.
- Headquarters of the National Medal of Honor Institute, an organization that addresses our nation’s character gap and fills it by focusing on the values and valor of the Medal of Honor and all who have earned it.
